Health Services Management Association (HSMA)

About HSMA:

The Health Services Management Association is dedicated to representing, educating, and promoting the interests of all students focused on careers in the health services industry. Our goal is to provide a forum for focused professional career development, exposure and access to industry professionals and alumni, and a strong community voice for the needs of our members.

BU’s Health Services Management Association is open to all students with an interest in health care, not just those working towards their MBA’s in Health Sector Management. Our members have diverse backgrounds and interests including:

• Hospital and Health Systems Administration
• Healthcare Consulting
• Healthcare Public Policy
• Healthcare Information Technology
• Health Insurance

We sponsor speakers and panels, alumni events, mentorship programs, professional development and other social gatherings in order to help launch members’ professional careers and networks.  We also work closely with the BioBusiness Organization to sponsor events that involve a broad array of health sector issues.

[HSMA] HSMA Adopt-A-Family

Dear HSMA Member:

DON'T MISS A CHANCE TO DOUBLE YOUR GIVING THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!!

This year HSMA is again participating in the Salvation Army Adopt-A-Family Program, which seeks to provide gifts this Holiday season for families in need.

Our family of three consists of a mom, dad and one teenage boy (16). We are hoping to provide books and a movie gift card for the boy, a gift for the mom and dad and supermarket gift certificates for the family.

To do this, HSMA has set a goal of raising $150.  The Executive Board has agreed to match all gifts from club members up to $75 which should allow us to raise our target amount. We will also be asking for donations at the HSMA event that we will be hosting on Saturday night (see separate email for details).

Please let Kevin Delaney (kdelaney79@gmail.com) or any of the other club officers know by Monday if you are interested in donating.  (Note: you can give us the actual money at any point over the next couple weeks, but we need to know right away how much you intend to pledge so that the gifts can be purchased this weekend). Individual donations from students last year ranged from just a few dollars to $50 and every donation helps.

Thanks and HAPPY HOLIDAYS,

HSMA Board
